Film maker Dallas Plastics Corp., backed by Sole Source Capital LLC, has acquired family-owned Hi-De Liners Inc. of Orange, Mass. The companies did not disclose terms of the acquisition.

The purchase gives Dallas Plastics a fourth U.S. plant and follows up on the promise SSC made to expand the company when it bought Dallas Plastics in October.

HDL makes high and linear low density polyethylene film as well as drum and trash liners, medical waste bags and barrier sheeting. Its products are also used in flexible packaging for the hospitality, bakery and seafood markets. The company employs 23 and offers printing and embossing services.

Dallas Plastics reported 2019 sales of $47 million, placing it at No. 95 in Plastics News' latest ranking of 171 North American film and sheet makers. In addition to food packaging and medical, the Mesquite, Texas-based company serves the industrial, agricultural and consumer products markets and offers bag-making and printing services.

Dallas Plastics was SSC's first foray into manufacturing, though the HDL purchase, announced June 3, is the private equity firm's 18th acquisition since it was founded in 2016. Dallas-based SSC has offices in Santa Monica, Calif., where it was previously headquartered.
